The New York Times had a great few weeks for language pieces: there’s this delightful comparison of top GIFs in different countries, plus a description of the BBC’s expansion into West African Pidgin English. Oh, and an article about Guaraní in Paraguay!

You’re probably already familiar with all this online dating lingo. I have to say, I’m a big fan of submarining as a term — although the person who does it most in my life is an old friend rather than someone I met online.
